Ah yet another Valentines Day. Yes I know it's overhyped and over commercialised (what event/celebration isn't nowadays??) but I do kinda like the warm feeling you get when giving a special gift or thought to a loved one, and this seems as good a day as any other...
So I've done the usual - dozen Red Roses, to be delivered to Jo at work at some point today. Yes I know we split up but we are still very very close and I am going round there for tea and to stay over tonight, before I have to go to the hospital tomorrow. she loves that kind of thing and it makes me smile too so there!
Got 2 cards today (so far - sure the sackloads will arrive later lol!!) and numerous text messages - never knew I was so popular!!
Makes me kinda sad when I think that this time 2 years ago I was whisking Jo off to London for a weekend that she described as the best memory of her life. Praise indeed!! Mind you being whisked away on an all expenses paid weekend in a 5 star hotel, with a flight on the London Eye (escorted to the front of the queue...), followed by a Champagne cruise down the Thames and back and then an exquisite evening Dinner on the Orient Express with a marriage proposal and dozen Red Roses thrown in should make for a pretty good memory.
Ah well, memories. Spotted the other day that she's stopped wearing her engagement ring. Kinda hurt a bit but that's life I guess.
Ho hum - keep looking to the future...
In other news - kicked Mother off to sunny Spain this morning. Up bright and early at 02:45. That's AM baby!! Very very AM. Just got a text 10 minutes ago to say she'd arrived safely. Jammy bugger. I'm shattered now, 8 hours in so far and another 6 to go before I can think of resting.
